My Mixed Media Art Canvases will be EXHIBITED and FOR SALE at the Old Malony’s Market & Art Centre in Mount Gambier !!!…

so…… I will be deleting ALL of my canvases from the FACE BOOK SHOP ……. currently there is nothing like my canvases at the Market…. I’m hoping they make an impression and sell like hot cakes…..LOL I can’t wait to see them hanging up…… :-)

I have lots of work to do before they go on show, making tags for each of them all and a Bio….

Here are a few of my personal favourites I will be selling at the market…

Since starting RINRINKA – FANTASY FACE PAINTING & GLITTER TATTOOS business I haven’t been painting many canvases. I have spent the last few months setting up the business (Suppliers, Products, Equipment, Insurance, Advertising, Networking and getting all the paperwork in order)… now that is all done, I can create Mixed Media Art canvases in between working PT at the Hospital and FACE PAINTING at Markets, Community & Sporting Events and Birthday Parties on the weekends… it is a BIG DREAM of mine to one day make Art and build my FACE PAINTING business so I can cut back having to go to work!!!……(I can dream, can’t I?)….hahaha

Spontaneous Scrappy/Arty trip to Warrnambool = HAPPY!!!

All the stars were aligned………..

Charm from Charm’s Creations and I drove to Warrnambool to catch up with scrappy friends meeting at the lovely Ebony Van der Starre’s home on Friday afternoon (yesterday)….

Marelle made yummy bolognaise for dinner, while we scrapped, painted, glued and chatted…….. Ebony had a class of 2 layouts… and she is a very talented teacher!!!!

I ‘played around’ making backgrounds in my journals and a bit of doodling as I didn’t have anything planned at such short notice.

I also have some VERY SPECIAL secret squirrel news….. and I’m sorry I can’t share just yet… so you’ll just have to wait..

Charm and I had the best conversation on the drive back home, with ideas and plans for this year…. it’s going to be a BIGGY!!!!!

I’ve already unpacked my bags from the trip, and ready to get my ART ON!!!!!!!!!! lol………

Thank you girls for a lovely afternoon/evening and it was so good to finally meet Ebony Van Der Starre, Leah Cameron and her sister ( forgot her name … and I like their style !!), Sophie Koschman, Jo Koschman, IRL, and to catch up with the sweet Marelle Jackman again…..

We WILL make it more often for sure…..{{hugs}}

START THE ART!!!!

Since having a stall at the local library on Sunday, I have been inspired to go back to the roots……… collage, paint, stamping, rub ons………. and I having fun!!!!

I have joined a free workshop, JUMP START 2012, by Nathalie Kalbach… and to ‘warm up’ for the January 123 Challenge 2012, I collaged in an old RD book……..(more inspiration from Amy McDonald of flutterbye)

here is my January 123 Challenge 2012 entry

Criteria; silver, word JOY, and splats….. I collaged print from an old RD book, painted over with red acrylic and scraped silver acrylic with an old credit card …… made my own stars and word Joy from cardboard, painted them and added Kindyglitz

I added splats and the cute photo of my grandies I got for Christmas….. = FUN!!!

I am working on a couple commission canvases ATM…. here’s a sneak

almost finished… and the second…….. collaged only……

For some reason I haven’t yet started week 1 of Life Book 2012 …. I’ve been keeping up to date with the Facebook page and it is rather overwhelming and intimidating seeing the lovely Goddesses being created….. truly stunning!!!…. and

the FREE, YES FREE……Strathmore Visual Online Workshop 1st class by Traci Bautista .. I WANT to start that REAL soon…. love her work!!!!!!!!!

I have a couple other workshops on the go too….. but I can do them at my own leisure… (even though I want to do EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW)…LOL… I am doing what I ENJOY right now, that’s all that matters….RIGHT?

ok, so… that’s it for now….…. and so I must START THE ART!!!!!

It’s amazing how inspired I am from having a stall….

at the MOUNT GAMBIER LIBRARY MARKET today!!!!!

I received some great feedback and lots of ideas…

Although there were a few showers and wind, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people that come down to check out all the stalls….. and there was plenty of them!!!

There was wine, smallgoods, art & craft, (including scrapbooking, jewwllery, dolls etc), books, wine barrels (made into furniture, garden features, dog kennels), Limestone Sculptures…… just to name a few……

Video Overload!!!

My eyes are sore and I feel OVERWHELMED!!!!!!!!!…………. I have signed up for like…… 5-6 Online Workshops…. some I paid for, but most are FREE!!!…. and most of them have started or will start in the next few days!!!!…..I had a feeling I was taking on too much…. but I don’t want to MISS OUT ON ANYTHING!!!!!

Unfortunately I do HAVE TO earn an income to pay the bills, I work permanent Part Time (with UNGODLY 5am starts… and I AM NOT an early morning person, so that doesn’t help either)

I have downloaded and watched sooooo many inspiring, AWESOME workshops and now I don’t know WHERE TO START!!

So instead of putting paint to paper/canvas/journal I have been cleaning out my emails……. literally 100’s and 100’s of them… telling me ‘join this’… ‘your next workshop starts’………. ‘comment updates’…… ‘specials’….. etc….. etc……etc.

I have ‘bitten the bullet’ so to speak and unsubscribed to many of them ……. because I can’t keep up!

I wanted to start this year more RELAXED, more IN TUNE, HAPPY and more FOCUSED!!!!……….. I have 2 journals/diaries and I haven’t made any entries!

So I am going to choose 1 (ONE) WORKSHOP I feel that will help me RELAX and RECHARGE…………… not sure which one yet.

I know I NEED A HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

or maybe I need to close my laptop LOL!!!!

the past month!…. Christmas is over and now it is the 1st day of January 2012!!!!!!!!!! It’s darn hot here too today, so I decided to stay inside……

I have started to download the PDFs and videos from LIFE BOOK 2012 and the buzz in the Group is truly AWESOME!!!

So many women and men wanting/needing to start the new year in a place of learning and nurturing….. Tam has put a lot of effort and love into this workshop along with 14 other very talented artists…. I KNOW it’s going to be a year of ups and downs, but I know I can share them with my art and friends who feel likewise…..

I have signed up for several other workshops, some a few days and some a few weeks, and I will share them with you as we go…..

I really hope I haven’t bitten off more than I can chew…..(oh there’s another story…. I had a tooth pulled 4days ago )……. with all these workshops and next weekend is the Mount Gambier Library Market, where I will be exhibiting all my canvases….. this should be awesome, really looking forward to it…

Week 2 : Mixed Media Draping (done)

So here is my finished homework of I HEART DRAWING by Jane Davenport …..

This is my first attempt at these ‘ladies’…. and I must say they are BOOTYLICIOUS!! hahaha….. going to work on them being more in proportion….

oops, sorry the photo is a bit blurry…

I purposely didn’t add a lot of facial features, and I mostly used watercolour paints.. I haven’t used them since Carla Sonheim’s Class, and I really loved the effect for this class.

Overall I am pretty happy…. I still need to work on the shading too….

Really was fun though….. although I am not a ‘fashionista’ by any means!!!

Ning is down for maintenance tonight….

and finally had the Mojo and time to finally start on ‘i Heart Drawing’ by Jane Davenport tonight … aaagggh!!!

but all was not lost …….….. I decided to finally learn how to use my Zutter Bind-It-All that has been in my cupboard almost 2 yrs…. ooops… LOL… I purchased Goddess Leonie’s 2012 Workbook and Calendar…. and decided to bind the Calendar and the Workbook I am going to paste in an Art Journal…….

I’m not good with instruction books and the DVD tutorial for the Bind-It-All didn’t have close-ups …

hehehe I managed to stuff up the edge of my front and back covers (which I had laminated!)….BUT being the clever chick I am, I cut the offending edge mess off and redid the holes and made the inner pages smaller…..

and here it is:

I think I will do some more binding…. looks really professional!

As I write this blog post I checked to see if the sites are back up…WOOHOO…. looks like I can make a start at i HEART Drawing!!…. or maybe more binding?????? LOL

DANG! I LOVE PAINTING……

To say I have been obsessed with painting and sketching is probably putting it mildly…. I go to bed thinking about the next ‘creation’…. so much inspiration out there that I would like to have a go at…..

but you can’t ‘rush’ art….. some days I have 3 or 4 projects happening… depending on my mood and what I HAVE TO DO (cooking, cleaning, work….. )…. but each day I have to paint or sketch SOMETHING….

Here are a some of my latest paintings….

Hehehe, another pirate!!! I did this in the A3 190gsm Visual Art journal , which I am REALLY loving, the pages are thick and yummy…

This one is another online lesson from Doll Dreams…. called Starry, starry Night…. and I must say I REALLY enjoyed painting this, which I also did in the A3 Visual Art Journal

You can’t see the glittery stars… I really should take another photo….

and I have just finished this one Santa Doll…. oh so pretty and glittery…. I did this one in my A4 Journal over 2 pages…..

Well? Is she pretty?.. I’m happy with her…… and I loved painting it…

Only one more week of Christmas Dreams from Doll Dreams…. I’m sooo glad I did this online class, it has helped me get into the Christmas Spirit and I have learnt I lot more techniques…

Even though I had no sales of RinRinKa Art, I had lots of positive feedback, met some wonderful people, got some great ideas for future artwork………. AND I have been asked to display RinRinKa Art in a local business!!!

King Arthur and the Witch:

Energy deprived!

The last week has been super tiring, with extra hours spent at my day job working 6 days, 3 of them split shifts (early morning starts are a real killer!!).......and my laptop was out of action....

I didn't even have the energy to visit my grandkids..... and the energy to be creative!..... I managed to finish one commission canvas and another is almost finished....

When I had the time, I was so exhausted I couldn't even gather the energy to think clearly..... it's so frustrating!!

I know I'm not the only one, and I really don't know how some of you find the time or energy to scrap or paint, especially with children to look after as well.

I must be getting old? LOL.....

Although I have to work 6 days again this week, hopefully this week I will be able to spend time with my family and my art, and upload some creativity on my blog to share!!

almost HALLOWEEN………

even though we don’t celebrate Halloween, I have been getting in the spirit….(get it?…SPIRIT……woooooooo)….scrarrrry…lol

I have been doing Adrianna Almandas’ GOTHIC DREAMS online class…. and loving it!!! Sadly the last week is coming up!….

I thought I would share what I have done the last 3 weeks…..

WEEK 1….. DAY OF THE DEAD

WEEK 2……LITTLE BLACK ANGEL…. I was a bit scared to start this one…. it looked difficult, but once I stated I really got into it, and I really love her!!

WEEK 3……. CORPSE BRIDE… this WAS a challenge, much harder to paint on a dark background, but I like how it come out.

In between I have also been practicing…

and a Zombie Girl (inspired by Tim Burton)… this was so cool…loved doing the sketch and those eyes… hehe LOVE THEM!!!

These have been so much fun, and I have learnt a lot…..

Where do I start?

I wish I had kept up my blogging, so much has been happening lately and I have been busy….

I have signed up for the FREE Whimsical Workspaces Workshop “a month long nurturing of your creative space”… I have photos of before on the previous post….. even though I haven’t been in the forum much, I have slowly made my workspace a little more organised and easier to work in.

Last weekend I went Barwon Heads near Geelong to a Scrap Retreat with 9 other wonderful girls…. it was a nice size group, lots of sharing, laughter and FOOD!! Oh and scrapping and even mixed media art.

Here are a few projects I did on the week end:

In my Art Journal… these are from sketches I did a couple weeks ago, I just sat and sketched the first thing that popped in my head.

I also did this 18x15in canvas of the ‘Gratitude’ I did in my AJ a while back which I really loved!!! I love the colour combo, the texture and pretty pleased with the girl too!!

Last night I finished Day Of The Dead in my AJ, from the GOTHIC DREAMS WORKSHOP by Adrianna Almanza

I know it sounds gruesome, but these are sweet dollies! They call the skull a Sugar Skull, and you paint and decorate it to make it look pretty. I used acrylic paint, and paint markers.

The title is Celebrate Life, I added a quote I loved :

Don’t cry because it’s over –Smile because it happened!

I have done the sketch for the next Goth Dolly – A Little Black Angel, which I will share when she is finished……

and guess what? I can use these…

Supracolour soft watercolour pencils and Neocolour II Watercolour crayons

WOOHOO!!!! I was excited when they arrived by post, I was too scared to use them the first day! HAHAHA…

Hopefully I will do better to keep up with all the goings on here and blog more often…

I have started the FREE WHIMSICAL WORK SPACES WORKSHOP already.... Anyone can join in… 4 weeks of inspiration and motivation!!!! Already there are hints and tips to help you get started on your own special work space… some of you may not have a designated area, and there are ideas for you too!!! I am very lucky to have a whole room…. I just need to utilize it better!

I’m heading off for a week-end retreat in a couple of weeks and I really needed to know what I want to take along..... LOL The timing of the WHIMSICAL WORK SPACES WORKSHOP was perfect timing for me!!!

I have sorted through paints, glues, brushes, alphas, embellishments, journals, ribbons, fabric…….. and still need to do more!! I thought I was going to throw/donate a lot of stuff, but really all I needed to do was sort and store it in a better user-friendly way…hahaha

I uploaded BEFORE photos on Flickr…. of my ‘STUDIO’ /Office /Sewing, Scrap Room… and in a few weeks time I’ll upload the AFTER photos… I hope to create a ‘SPECIAL SPACE’ for CREATIVITY and INSPIRATION…. my own little RETREAT from the stresses of work, and the daily grind!

Feeling MYSTICAL……..

I’ve had this urge to paint a Gothic Girl…. my very first…. and I love how she turned out….

She has a glittery silver dress on and holding a skull.. LOVE those BIG eyes…LOL

I also had an urge to paint a Fairy Godmother..

and a Fairy…

and I painted this…… from Willowing, Black/White Challenge….

This is my ‘Witches Spell Book’ (a journal dedicated to anything Mystical)…..

I did the sketch a couple weeks ago while I was visiting the Grandies, and they loved the picture…. so here it is finished…

Feeling WHIMSY……..

I have been able to watch the INSPIRING DVD’s from Willowing …. ULITMATE World of whimsy 1 and 2 while I rest my back after I hurt it at work a couple weeks ago…

Whimsy painting is fun!!! The characters are supposed to have exaggerated bodies, heads, eyes, lips etc… CUTE!!!

This page means a lot to me….

The girl with the purple dress was supposed to represent ME and my friends…… but REALLY, the girl with the red dress was more like ME when I was growing up…. feeling left out and not accepted!

This page was painted and collaged ages ago…… and I finally found a quote I liked….. so I stuck that in yesterday afternoon….

I love paper napkin collage…. easy and sooo effective!!!

I thought I would share what I have been up to lately….

It’s been a busy couple of months… I ordered 4 DVD’s from Tamara Laporte, aka Willowing…. “Fabulous faces”, “Magical Mythical Makings”, “Ultimate World Of Whimsy”, and “Awesome Art Journal” Oh gosh… I lurve Tamara’s work…. I printed every PDF and stuck them all in an A4 diary, so now I can look through the book and get all inspired, and I love watching the DVD’s, they are so helpful….

Had a go at collage and paint…..
In the meantime, I had Christy Thomlinson’s 1 week Creative Colour Workshop. I am so glad I joined the workshop, Christy had some great ideas and I have used her tips already!!!
At the same time Carla Sonheim’s Dog Days Of Summer Camp, which consisted of 3 weeks, and entailed about 2 hours a day to complete each task.
1st week was Imaginary Creatures

Don’t you just {heart} them? LOL….
Second week, Faces 101,

Third and last week, Junk Mail Artist’s Book… which I really enjoyed….

I didn’t get ALL the assignments completed, but dabbled in everyone of them. Thank goodness Carla is leaving the videos and PDF’s available forever!!!
Then, the gorgeous, talented, witty Gigi , Gist Creative had launched her first Mixed Media Canvas Workshop Video….. and of course, I knew I would learn something new from this gal!!! I did!!! I found out what pens to use on my canvases…and they work a treat!!! (I have nearly every black pen available..lol) thanks Gigi! xxxxx (I love the canvas and am hoping to do mine very soon)
Then, I found a site called Doll Dreams, by Adriana Almanza, from Germany… lovely lady, and very, very talented artist and teacher. … I signed up for the Doll Dreams Basic Class…. I love the girls big eyes and pretty hair… I so want to be able to paint them!!

I ‘met’ her and many, many other talented artists when I did the Dirty Footprints… 21 Secrets Workshops…by Connie Hozvicka… (another gorgeous girl BTW!!!) I have to say that this has to be THE best value Workshop ever…. 21 Teachers and Workshops, and for about $59 I think it was!
A few weeks ago I picked up another dozen 2010, A4 diaries for 15c each at K Mart!!! BARGAIN!!!….

….. and in between workshops I have been gessoing pages and painting background pages in my Art Journals.
I have several Art Journals going at the moment,
one for me to try different techniques,
one for inspiration from talented artists, where I paste my favourite pictures in,
another I made myself a while ago, is for favourite quotes,

another is a Yearly Visual Diary,

An A4 2011 Diary… Front Cover…. still want to put a title on

Inside first page…. I want to put journalling here explaining what the diary is about.

My months I have started for 2012… I will journal, doodle, stamp and collage as I go. This diary was inspired by Kathryn Wheel
another Journal is my “GRATEFUL’ Journal, (inspired by Goddess Leonie…. also from 21 Secrets Workshops)

I used watercolour paints and a sharpie… oh I made this journal too a few months ago…
Oh…. yes these came in the mail last week…..

Cloth Paper Scissors DVD’s 2004-2009….WooHoo!
The last few weeks I have had the flu and still haven’t shaken it off yet!!!. Then last week I was at work and hurt my back…. I didn’t think much of it at first, but after a few hours of mopping floors etc. I was in agony!!! I couldn’t wait to get home, and it got progressively worse. I went to Dr. and referred to a Physio 2 days later…Oh my, the pain!!! Even with anti inflammatories and pain killers!! It’s been 4 days now, and I am all taped up on my lower back which I have to leave on for 2 more days!
the house is starting to look like a pigsty, because I can’t bend, twist, lift or reach
….. I am still trying to do little things, I don’t want to lose all movement!!

What a FANTABULOUS WEEKEND ….

weatherwise….. and I finished a ‘just because’ I felt like it Art Journal page….. well a double page…..I like how it turned out.

It started out with background of masking tape I had stuck down ages ago, then added acrylic for background, then a collage picture from a magazine… I added wings from music paper…

Sorry the photo is a bit blurry.. I think I was in a hurry to start LOL…

I painted over the picture with acrylic

and used a graphite pencil and soft pastels for shading (still trying to get the hang of the light source)…. then stamps, and Kindyglitz for wings and hair… I also used a brayer and a little watered down gesso and ran the brayer over the whole spread to give it a softer look.

and then the title…… Will you please be my Guardian Angel?… (notice I spelt it wrong? )

She looks like she’s not too sure about being my Guardian Angel….. I think I might be too hard to look after (I like to do things MY WAY..lol)

Another 2 Handmade Art Journals…

This one is for my eldest Grandson….. he loves drawing, so I hope he likes it…..

My aim is to use what I have in my stash, cardboard, watercolour paper, black rope…. I had some paper towel (I used to clean up acrylic paint), mod podged on the cardboard covers, I used a few stamps and bubble wrap to add colour and texture. I then printed a font for Damon’s name and pasted to cardboard, and painted it black.

I did another one for myself, just using bits and pieces….. I really enjoy making these journals….

This time I added some ‘Bling’… my initials.

I have ‘Blank Page’ Syndrome ATM…. not sure what I will create in this journal….. I am doing a Self Paced Workshop from Willowing, and have done my first class sketch….. eeeek, I can see heaps of mistakes….. but it’s all a learning curve, and all I have to do is Practice, Practice, Practice!!! hahahaha….

Well, it’s off to the drawing board….

It’s sooooo damned COLD!!!!!

I’m not a big fan of Winter to say the least!!! I’ve been feeling a tad off-colour lately, tired ALL the time, I REALLY think it’s because I’m not getting enough Vitamin D (sunlight)…. I work in a Hospital, I sleep, and spend my time in my Studio everyday…… I haven’t even been to the gym over the last 3 or so weeks……..
Bring on Summer..PLEASE!!!…..
The ONLY good thing about Winter is It’s good to stay indoors and CREATE!!!!
I have found another NEW love….. BOOK BINDING!!! I have made 3 “Art Journals”, one each for my Grandkiddies (to practice), and they love LUUUURVE them! A great school holiday activity for them….

Silly me, didn’t take a photo of them completely finished with stamping and their names on them… (I’m having a sleep-over tomorrow night, so I’ll take some pics of their ART)
I have also made myself another ART JOURNAL, and ….. I LOVE IT!!!…… Thick and chunky, like a REAL BOOK!!

Talk about ‘RECYCLING’ lol…. I have used white cardboard from work (perfect weight for paint) for the pages, leather strapping I had kept for years (I knew I would use it one day..lol) The ‘perfect’ thread is out of date ‘suture’ thread that was going to be thrown out (I got a box full from work). The covers from an old Reader’s Digest.

I’m not sure what I will create in this book, but I am sooo proud of it!!! I have already had a request to make another one…. hehehe which I don’t mind….
I have also been ‘playing around’ with other stuff which I will show you soon… really different to what I am doing ATM… you’ll just have to wait and see won’t you?
Oh and I have done another art girl, just for fun (and I am REALLY hanging out to do some more)
I was prompted by the music title from an old music book (Leave Me Alone) and a picture of a girl in a magazine.. The sleeves are coloured scrunched up bits of paper towel…… to give it dimension.
Sometimes I feel like this…… not all the time…. only when I want to CREATE!!!! LOL…. you know what I mean.
I am patiently waiting for some goodies to arrive from England from Tamara Laporte Willowing, from 21 Secrets Workshop and from America from Mixed Media – Interweave… CAN’T WAIT!!!!……
and another WORKSHOP coming up with Christy Tomlinson “CREATIVE COLOUR: ART REDEFINED” a mini workshop a week long, with a project for each day…. looking forward to getting out of my comfort zone and actually being more colour conscience when I am creating a page….
Ok, enough for now….. I am FINALLY getting warm with the heater cranked up, but sadly I must go back to work again this afternoon….. but on the upside after tomorrow, I have 2 days off…. tomorrow night I am having a sleepover with my grandies, then taking another granson bowling on Saturday afternoon….. and HOPEFULLY some ‘ART’ sometime Saturday night Sunday…. WOOHOO (I am soooo over working 6 days a week, I have forgotten what it’s like to have a REAL week end)…..

I had a messy desk……

so I decided to use as much as I could to complete the outside cover of one of my journals……. first I glued a piece of calico to cover the back and front of the journal, and glued the first and last pages on top of the raw edges inside to neaten…

I used a canvas sheet (to glue on the front) and scraped some colours on the canvas with an old credit card and used paper towelling to blot dry. I Mod Podged a piece of table napkin with a nice picture onto the canvas, then sewed some strips of towelling paper and sewed zig zag and straight stitching around the edge of the canvas.

I glued a heart from patterned paper I had previously stitched with black embroidery thread (inspired by Christy Thomlinson Workshop) and ran the glue gun around the edge of the heart.

and glued some pictures I had printed I liked from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, music paper scraps and some stamping.

When I finished the canvas, I glued it to the front cover of my journal….. Love the end result!

Guess what?……. my desk is STILL MESSY!!!!

WT?…….hahaha have to laugh at myself…

I MUST have been tired when I posted my last blog….. I was referring to GREAT ARTISTS and named one as Raold Dahl…hahaha.. I meant SALVADOR DAHLI…oops my bad…. anyway I thought I would just share what I have been up to the last week.

Last weekend the 26th, 27th June my Mum, sister and niece came to visit us…. it has been a loooooong time since the last time we ALL got together and it was great. We did the touristy thing and went to see the famous Blue Lake, the Valley Lakes and Umpherston Cave.

We had a family get together on Saturday night, with lots of food and drinks…. except one thing spoiled it……. our power would go off!!! Poor kids would be watching a movie and then “blip” everything except the lights went out….. it was frustrating when we were on Skype to Sri Lanka and the power would cut out GRRRRRR…… not sure, but I think it was our dishwasher causing the problem (I haven’t used it since, and we’ve had no problems????? go figure), everyone left by 9.30pm…. (good one to remember when you want to get rid of someone hahaha)….

Family get together Saturday night.

Sunday we went to my daughters’ after lunch and spent the whole day and evening there. So much fun, very happy and lots of music and dancing around with the kids….loved every minute of it!!!!

Of course all good things must come to an end, and on Monday Mum, Gayle and Tayla went back home to Adelaide and Gawler.

I also had my birthday during the week, pretty much another day, but I did get pressies, hugs and Birthday wishes.

Work has been pretty full on, so I haven’t been able to get messy with my ART JOURNALING, apart from a bit of doodling and gesso some more pages. I have been watching some videos of some free workshops at Strathmore Visual Journal Online Workshops. These would be great for beginners in Art Journaling.

I have a bit of time up my sleeve before I head off to bed, so I’m going to have a play around with one of my journals…. hehehe I don’t feel my day is complete without doing SOMETHING in one of my journals!

It’s about the ‘journey’…..

Everyone has different taste when it comes to art…. I like all kinds of art, and appreciate the effort and personal journey when creating….

I am writing this after a conversation yesterday, when someone made a comment about one of my ‘paintings’…. “They said they did that when they were in kindy”…. and in the same breathe said they can only draw stick figures….

Ok, so how do I feel about the comment?

As I am re-igniting my journey into art and beginning mixed media, I know my art isn’t Monet, or Roald Dahl, or any of the talented artists I admire. I am enjoying the process and the journey when I create, and most times I am happy with the end result anyway….. It’s about the peace, the joy, the and freedom when I create, not the end result all the time…..

So here is another I finished 2 days ago….. I know the nose is wrong, the angle, and other little things, but “I” created it, and “I” loved every minute of it!!!!!!!!!! And that is all that matters to ME!!!

I will continue my art and I am going to try lots of new mediums and techniques, and they will MASTERPIECES by ME!!!!!…lol

WOW!!! I luuuurve this workshop!!!!
This was the first time I have used Copic pens, and they take some getting used to. I was disappointed with the black pen I was using, because it would ‘bleed’ every time I got close to it and made smudges all the time. I loved the feel of the pen, but disappointed about the smudging….gonna have to find another pen grrrrr!!!!
I love Violette Clark’s Art!!!!! so up my alley…. and I have been sketching more faces as well….. you’ll just have to wait till I take some pics….. bwahaha.

This weekend my Mum, sister and Niece are visiting for 3 days, so I don’t think I’ll get much Art Journaling done, but I’m sure we will have a great time catching up.

I had fun with the whole process, and I am anticipating doing more of them.

It has been raining most of today, and I was lucky I didn’t have to work, so I stayed in my jammies ALL DAY!!!!!!!

I have started another workshop from 21 Secrets Workshop, called Me and My Shadow from Violette Clark. I have learnt some more awesome techniques, and hope to finish at least one page tomorrow…

These workshops are EXACTLY what I have been needing to help me with my journaling and art! I am getting so much inspiration and learning to be BRAVE and FEARLESS with my creativity!

‘prepping’ lots of pages with paint and gesso in my 4 Journals!!!

Yes, 4 Journals….. I get so impatient waiting for paint & gesso to dry..lol I have at least 1 journal to ‘play’ with!!

Oh and another canvas!! It’s 22cm x 31cms… 9ins x 12ins…

I LOVE this one!!!

Love is like wildflowers, it’s often found in the most unlikely places

I have added painted gauze, and used hot glue around 3 hearts, stamps, hessian and book paper.

Can you see the word ‘LOVE’ written with hot glue!!! Love it!!!

Now, some journal pages….

Love the effect I got here…. I wish you could see IRL, so much better.

I am really loving doodling ATM… and am practicing my hand-writing (I have never liked my own hand-writing on my Scrap pages, maybe I will from now on)…

The page was inspired by 21 Secrets Workshop…. Oh I have still sooooo many new things to try….hehehe

Do you know what I REALLY love doing when I don’t have any ‘projects’ happening???? I love to paste pictures, or paint pages with gesso ready for when my mojo kicks in…. it’s very relaxing, and I feel I am doing something constructive!

I thought I would show you this double page (an A4 old Diary)ready to work on…. not sure what I will do yet…. we’ll just have to wait and see eh?

Another old diary (6in x 8in), I love this size, great for a quick project, ready for doodling I reckon!!!!

I have a stack of pages from magazines prepped as well, so I have plenty to keep me out of mischief for a while…

in the mean time, keep warm, it’s been freezing here, and my thoughts are with the people in New Zealand with the horrible earthquakes, and far north NSW with the terrible floods… XXXX

I went a bit (lot) off track, but I went with my instinct & here she is…..bit quirky….

I used paint, soft pastels, black permaball pen, and oil pastels.

Another project I finished the other day is the Urban Layer Cake Workshop, by Tammy Garcia…. this was fun

I did 2 pages, one dark colours and one light colours… (just playing around)…. and practicing my doodling too..

Super Dooper EXCITED!!!

I loved SHE ART WORKSHOP….. I am loving the 3 HEARTS WORKSHOP……. and now…. I have joined 21 SECRETS WORKSHOP…..my oh my….. I am in ART HEAVEN!!!

I have painted/gesso/mod podged paper drying everywhere… and have so many ideas in my head, and so many techniques to try… my head is spinning… as a-matter-of-fact, I couldn’t sleep last night (and not sure if I will get to sleep straight away tonight either)

While I have been getting some R & R…

I have been working on rather large canvas, not what I am used to….. a 40 x 50cm… quite a challenge, but I am really happy with it!!!

I do a lot of layering on my canvases, and they take me a bit longer to do, this one took the longest, although, maybe because I haven’t 100% lately….

I am working on several more at the moment, another biggie 40 x 50 cm, a 23 x 32 cm, a 20 x 40cm, and a set of 4 15 x 15cm, all at different stages and all uniquely different.

On Saturday I will be having a little Art Canvas Workshop and showing a friend and my daughter how I do my canvases……. I am SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

A Day Off!!!!!! …………………. another My Art Canvas…

and it felt good!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slept in till 8.30am, then my partner cooked us breakfast, muffins, eggs, bacon with tomato and I made the coffee….hehe

I had few touches to add to the canvas I started yesterday….

My moon changed a few times, and finally I am happy with it now…. a stamp of music notes, handwriting and a heart.

Just before lunch I thought it would be good to visit the local Sunday Market with daughter and grandchildren…. I haven’t been for ages, and everyone had to come and say hello, we had a coffee and the kids had hot chips….. and I found this…

Love these pictures of antiques…. I may be able to use them on my canvases……

and I bought a set of assorted paintbrushes for $9.99 from Lincraft, and a few more canvases……

it was great to go ‘shopping’ with my daughter, we have the best time together….

I was busy…………. too busy to watch the Wedding…

Yep, mojo was happening….YAY!!!! I did 2 canvases…..

This canvas is 5 x 7in… and the background was actually a street map, then scraping of paint, stamping, doodling and a couple of rub ons….. I love it!!!

This canvas is 6 x 12in….. and started off with paper dress pattern for the background….. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do…. then as I walked into my scrap room I noticed an Alphabet stencil in the paper rack…… that gave me an idea…..

and everything came together ……

Well best get back to the routine…. oh and I need more paint brushes….hehehe

How did your Easter go?

Pretty ordinary here…. although I had 3 days off…. just all went too quickly.

I loved seeing my grandies… soooo cute….. we gave them PJ’s and a few Easter Eggs, which were promptly put in the fridge for later…LOL

I have finished another two SHE ART GIRLS…. and love how they turned out…..

WEEK 2 SHE ART GIRL…

We learnt how to layer the dress….

and I had these Sprites from Prima for ages, and with a bit of doodling, I love how they look now.

This canvas has an Angel….. I did this one JUST BECAUSE…. I felt like it..LOL

They say change is as good as a holiday…….

Finally have taken a couple of photos of my ‘scrap/sewing’ room….. that I wanted to change around…. (don’t ask me HOW many times I have, but hopefully this is how it will stay,,,, for a while anyway .. hehe)

(sorry not the best pic).. I love how can look outside the window overlooking the pond and garden….

Looking back the other way, there are built in wardrobes on the left. I have had the bookshelf on the right for ages standing in the front entrance with nothing much in it, and stumbled on a friends blog with a book case similar….. “LIGHT BULB” moment!!! YAY!!

It’s not looking very ‘pretty’…… perhaps one day I will get some nice funky boxes…… Having the bookshelf has for storing alphas, rub ons, photos, chipboard embellies…… oh the list goes on…. now I have more room to scrap on!

(I have newspaper on the desk atm, ready for my next project)

The office desk was actually in the Office , (I swapped the bulky computer desk I had in my room, because I have a laptop now, I don’t need the computer desk)

The only problem is that I have to keep moving my laptop out the way to scrap….. a minor problem…… I am loving the space in here now, and when I get used to where everything is, I will love it even more…..

Hi Ya All!!!!

I am making time to have some me time and scrap!! Yay!! I find that the days so quick though!

I am really excited about Christy Tomlinson’s She Art Class, which I thought started today, but I forgot I am on the OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD, hence I’m guessing it will be tomorrow before I can access the online class…

Here is my White With One LO I finished yesterday.

I mixed Olive green paint with water in a spray bottle and used a chipboard dragonfly as a mask, and also soaked some gauze in the paint as well… I love how that turned out! I’m not really loving the whole LO…. but at least I SCRAPPED!!

I have 2 more projects happening at the same time……

Yes/NO?????

Well if you have, I’m sorry but I’ve been quite busy lately and haven’t had a chance to blog……

Last week end I was so enthused and started 2 Challenges from the Chat With Charm Forum and then all week has been a blur of early morning starts at work, visiting Charm, and I got hold of our computer guy on Monday afternoon, picked up our ‘broken’ desktop computer, found out what was wrong by 10pm that night!!! A fan had burnt out and melted over the graphics card….. I bought a new graphics card the next day and it was fixed by 1pm……!!!!!!!!

now that is AWESOME…….. except I wanted to change my scraproom and office tables/desks and put a bookshelf in my scrap room…. and it had to be done before he dropped the computer back!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAggghhhhhh……….. so I just threw stuff everywhere…. computer cords and desks and draws went flying…… anyway, long story short… all done, comp fixed, rooms finished!!!! I am now sitting here with a BIG desk so I can scrap with no crap on the desk…. Love the bookshelf…… I still want to get some funky storage boxes to put in it, and I still have a few bits to find a home for.

I’ll take some photos when it is all finished…

Yesterday I went shopping and bought a new door mat for the front door…

DON’T YA LOVE IT? LOL

It’s now Sunday afternoon….. I kinda got side tracked and didn’t finish the blog from yesterday…..

I have been scrapping, albeit very slow, only one page WW1, it’s OK, but probably went off track a bit.

I’m really looking forward to doing the SHE ART Class starting Monday….. … love paints, inks, and grunge!!!! See how I go….

well, must go and start the next challenge… hmmmm 123 Challenge I think…. Catchya!

Yesterday, Saturday 26th March, we gathered at Charms’ place to spend some happy scrappy time together and help celebrate Vicki Burdon’s 30th Birthday……… and it was even better when Sue Plumb and Anthea also joined us…. there was also Jodie Jarnevic and Shazz…. i managed to punch out some flowers and glue some challenges in my “Challenge Me” Book..LOL….. DAY 1 – Sunday 20/3/ 2011 YAY!!!!………….. a MINI HOLIDAY!!!….. I really wanted to take my scrapping supplies as well, but I wasn’t allowed to….. if you know how much I like to take , you would understand… LOL I pretty much like to take EVERYTHING… (just in case I need it)……….so I brought a book to read instead!
We finally left at 10 mins past 10am today Sunday 20/3/2011, and it’s a gorgeous day for driving….. Stopped at Warrnambool to buy some shoes (I forgot my black dress shoes LOL,) so I had to BUY some new ones…..hahaha had lunch of fish & chips.
The weather is perfect, 25-27C so far, but expecting rain probably tomorrow evening…. oh well, I can read my book I guess!
After driving for ages we were both getting edgy and really wanting to get to Lorne…. we drove along the Great Ocean Road, and as some of you may not know, it is very scenic. Lots of cliffs and the road is on the edge and VERY VERY windy.

We stopped at the Bay Of Martyrs on the way.

We arrived about 6pm, booked into our hotel and unpacked. OMG what a tiny room…… oh but we have a balcony overlooking the beach front…… hmmmmmmmmmm this is our view LOL At least we can HEAR the sea.

We have friendly white cockatoos who sit on the rail on our balcony too while we have a drink.

Look at this poor cocky………. don’t know what happened to it…….. but they would come and visit morning and night…

I can’t believe how mild it is here, I was expecting it to be cold. Loving the weather!
We took a stroll down the street to check out where to eat and decided to have pizza for tea, sitting in a bar with huge open windows watching the traffic, very relaxing. Now having a couple of drinks and might go read my book.

Day 2 – Monday 21/3/2011
AAAAGHHH!! Fred up at 6am….. I stayed in bed till 8am. We were hungry, so had foccacia for brekky in a cafe….VERY exy $25…. so we walked to Foodworks and bought a loaf of bread, butter, tomatoes and sliced meat…. and a couple of bowls and spoons (I brought cereal with us)…… I know, fancy taking food with you, but I’d rather spend my money on one really good meal in a restaurant each day.
We went to the Information Centre and got some maps to visit some waterfalls. We drove out of town 10kms to the Erskine Falls…. very tropical looking, reminds me of the Dandenongs in VIC.

The Erskine Falls… very pretty and tropical… over 200 steps to get to the bottom!

Then to see Teddy’s Lookout…… here you have a good view of the windy road and cliffs leading into Lorne.

The weather has been very kind to us so far, but I have heard that there was a thunder storm at home last night, so wouldn’t be surprised if we get rain here in the next 24hrs.
Still might get a nap in yet today, then the walk to the pier, then shower and dinner…… after that read my book!!!
5.00pm….. Oh dear…… we both ended up having a nanna nap till 5pm!!!! We decided to go for a walk to the new pier before we shower and go to dinner tonight.

We didn’t go far for dinner, just here at the Hotel they have a really nice outdoor bar area where you can sit and watch the traffic and overlook the town and way out to sea!!! It has a great atmosphere. Great meals too. After dinner we walked to the video shop and hired a video, watched that and I crashed….. must be the sea air??? LOL
DAY 3 – Tuesday 22/3/2011
I slept like log apart from waking up because I was hot, so I opened the balcony door…. lol the air-con doesn’t work!!! Slept probably till 8am, and showered. I couldn’t eat breakfast, I was still full from dinner last night. Fred had toast.
We walked down the street to drop in the video, and walked right to the end of the street to check out where to have dinner tonight. We stopped at a bakery for lunch, Fred had pie & pasty & I had a chicken & avocado focaccia for lunch. Back to the Hotel Fred had a flutter on the pokies and ended $35 up YAY! We went to visit a Gallery 2kms out of town, amongst some beautiful forest, but when we drove in the lovely garden it was closed!!!!! We saw a gorgeous lily pond, and some awesome sculptures outside, unfortunately it won’t be open until Thursday & we are leaving tomorrow. This afternoon we are on our computers, Fred on Evony and I’m catching up on my Blog ……. another nap perhaps too???? gotta love holidays
It’s almost 9.30pm. We didn’t have a nap, I spent the afternoon creating a catalogue for my Krazee Kaps, Scrub & Catering hats. Pleased with it too. We had toasted sandwiches for dinner tonight, something light for a change. I saw some clever advertising today, a play on the town name of Lorne…… LORNEDROMAT….LOL and in a restaurant for the menu it had SPESHELLS…(because Lorne is a coastal town) very clever I thought! Too Funny!!!!

I had a great surprise when I checked in to Chat With Charm and went to see who won Nic Pomeroy’s give away on her blog…… it was ME!!!! I was stoked, especially when I really wanted to scrap while on holiday….. when I get home, I’m going to MAKE TIME in my busy schedule of work, work, and more work to get back into scrapping again!! We have taken quite a few photos over the last few days and I am wanting to do a mini album…..

We are leaving about 10am in the morning, and I’m not looking forward to going back to work …..

DAY 4 – Wednesday 23/3/2011
Well we had some really fine mist, tiny bit of rain overnight, but not much to dampen the spirits, apart from having to go home to the daily grind again…blah!!!! I have to start work at 5am Thursday morning..EEEKKKKK!!!!
We left about 9am, stopped at Appolo Bay for a sausage roll and a Latte. We had a tiny bit of rain till The 12 Apostles, where we stopped to take photos.

We we had a couple of heavy showers after Port Campbell and some threatening dark clouds, but the rest was fine.
I read a couple chapters of my book on the way and also fell asleep…. we stopped at Nelson for a break and only 30kms to go….. So a good trip home….. Unpacked everything ASAP, then onto our computers to upload the photos hehehe….

Fun Day–Saturday

Last Saturday 12th March I had to babysit my 3 grandies all day……. while my daughter and partner had photography job for a family wedding. It was a gorgeous day, the sun was shining and really mild.

At about 11am I decided to to take the kiddies to the playground close by.

Here are a few photos from the playground.

Ryarne took off and headed straight to the slippery dip…

We spent about an hour at the playground trying all the different equipment…. and NO INJURIES!!!

We walked home, had 2 bowls of spaghetti bolognaise each which was already cooked (YAY) for lunch.

I gave Ryarne her bottle and she promptly fell asleep in my arms, so I put her to bed and she slept for 2 and half hours, which gave me time to wash dishes, wash and hang about 4 loads of washing, I wiped the kitchen cupboards, cleaned the vanity and toilet, swept and mopped the kitchen, dining, laundry and passage floors…… Harmony & Chei must have been tired from playing at the playground because they watched Bugs Bunny the whole time….LOL

I had some help from the kids putting clothes in the washing machine hanging the washing on the line as well.

We had a visit from Uncle Steven, Kelly and Cousin Damon for about an hour.

The plan for the rest of the day was 5.30pm was dinner time, 6pm, bath & PJs, and then we could watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and a Milo……..

well………. the plan worked a treat!!!! The girls had a bath together first, then Chei hopped in after….. the kids were good for me all day… couldn’t have asked for a better day!!!

Ryarne fell asleep before the movie finished and as soon as the movie finished H & C went to bed.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open so I fell asleep on the lounge as I had to start work at 5am ……. Charm FINALLY arrived home at 12.30!!!!!!!!!!! Hehehehehehehe and I had to ride Scooter home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I was wide awake by the time I got home… )…. I showered and collapsed into bed for 3 and a bit hours sleep……

BUT it was worth it… I had a the best time spending time with my GRANDIES……XXXXXXX

Busy………….Or WHAT?

Gosh time goes fast when your having fun………………. Earlier this month my desktop *%#t itself….. bigtime…. I did everything I knew to save my data….. but….. all to no avail…… I have someone to hopefully fix it, but he is on holiday ATM….. I think he has forgotten me… ….. anywhooo, I have my Krazee Kaps business to run, my Facebook friends I miss, and of course my scrapping Blogs to visit, and for days I was completely LOST without my puter…. absolutely didn’t know how to get through each day without it…… I HAD TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!

Anyone else had this happen to them????

I have been wanting a laptop for a loooong time, so here we are I have a TOSHIBA Qosmio….. and I LOVE IT!!!!

I have uploaded all my fav programs and backup files and we are up & running……..haaaaaaaa *sigh of relief!!!!

Lots of other things have been going on since my last post as well, and the most exciting is a new SCRAPPING FORUM, created by my daughter (she is a scrapping fanatic & a gorgeous girl). It’s called CHAT WITH CHARM.

A Forum where Scrap Blog Challenges are in one easy friendly place, and scrappy friends can meet and chat!!! Yep, even a chat room!!! We are having a get together on Thursday 10th March at 8pm SA time… so why not register and come and join us, we would love to meet you!!!!

Each of the Challenge Blogs have their own gallery to upload your completed LO’s…

So far there are 16 awesome Blogs to check out the weekly/monthly challenges, and I MUST say, it has made it easy to just click on the blog link and find ALL the info you need!!!! Oh and of course meet heaps more Scrapaholics!!! LOL

You know I scrap… not lately though *tsk*tsk….. and I ride… Just wanted to share, my partner (fiance) & I rode our motorbikes to Penola, about half an hour ride on Sunday afternoon… absolutely gorgeous riding weather….. stopped to have a nice ice coffee and back home again….. I know bit lame really, but, there’s really not enough time to have a decent ride now-a-days…. always tired or working… it’s not fair!!!!!!

I didn’t take a photo of the bikes, we parked them down the street a bit further away. LOL

Ok, must get back to creating some more KRAZEE KAPS, as I am hoping to have my website running very soon!!! YAY!! I’ll keep you posted on that…… and of course I’m hoping to get some of those challenges done from the CHAT WITH CHARM Forum……. maybe even have a scrap get together with some local scrappy friends soon!!

Yesterday I was a part of the Mount Gambier & District residents & businesses reprsenting our region in SAVE OUR FORESTS Rally held in ADELAIDE SA................

and I am proud to be part of it!!!!

We drove to Adelaide in our own car (3 of us), leaving about 7am, we passed about 5 buses at Tintinara (having a rest stop)...... where we also had breakfast......We wore our white "SAVE OUR FORESTS" T Shirts and had comments of encorouragement from complete strangers, which was a positive sign we would achieve our purpose of halting the sale of our forests to private enterprise. A QUICK FIX for the Government, but a long term desimmation of our JOBS, and BUSINESSES,WITH A HUGE IMPACT ON OTHER RESOURCES including our schools, small business, Hospital, Housing Industry, (the list goes on and on) here in the SE, & other forests in our great state of South Australia!

We passed a few semi trailers on our way only the freeway into Adelaide.... and we were getting quite excited to see how many would turn up for the rally...We arrived approx 12pm...parked the car & walked past the Adelaide Oval & crossed over King William St to where the rally was to start....there already was a huge crowd there, with banners & placards ready!

1pm the lights turned red and we chanted ALL THE WAY TO PARLIMENT HOUSE:

WHAT DO WE WANT?..........NO SALE!!!!!!

WHEN DO WE WANT IT?............NOW!!!!!!

Traffic was stopped going out of the city along King William St. Some of the drivers were waving and others.... well not too pleased about the INCONVENIENCE!!!!

There were several speakers including Mayor Steve Perryman, CFMEU, and business people encouraging Mr. Rann to come outside to speak to us.....(meh, didn't show)...... with many chants in between speeches..... the noise was incredible!!!!

I'm not sure what time the semi trailers started roll in from North Tce..... but the crowd had to move onto the footpath (they had been blocking traffic for quite a while)..... and it was STANDING ROOM ONLY, and was quite warm even in the shade of Parliment House.......

This photo was taken of the semis just arriving from North Tce looking towards the Casino and Railway Station..... Air horns blowing NON STOP....... it was music to our ears..... the noise was incredible!!!!! ....... the crowd was cheering and clapping and waving their placards the whole time until approx 70 trucks passed!

It was quite emotional...... I saw many businesses using their trucks in the rally..... not just logging trucks..... their were builders, and Banner Hardware... big & small from the whole South East Region. Schools and Football Clubs from ALL over the region showing their opposition to the STUPID, IGNORANT DECISION TO SELL OFF OUR FUTURE!!!!!

I have heard rumours that the Government has ALREADY done the dirty and it will be a waste of time protesting......BUT............. the Government have a FIGHT ON THEIR HANDS.........AND IT IS NOT FINISHED!!!!!!!

I bet you are wondering what does that mean?

Well, the last couple of days have been pretty darn hot here....the rest I will explain as we go along....... Saturday night I spent the evening with my daughter, a gorgeous scrap friend from Perth, whom I met online, and 2 other awesome local scrappers...... I didn't scrap, I grabbed some of my old PP and punched out flowers with some new flower punches, while chatting and laughing.....(I also managed get my youngest granddaughter to fall asleep in my arms......awwwww......cute)
The next day was another hot one, so I spent the afternoon & most of the evening making these:

In between makin these gorgeous flowers, I have been prepping pages for Art Journals........ I'm not a great one for adding much journalling to my LO's, so this may help me express myself in art form.... I love paints, mists and my favourite Modge Podge......

On the left is the a journal with paint background, but will add more to the page as I feel the urge..... and on the right is a small old 2008 diary I covered with torn book pages with modge podge, and the top of the photo of course, are some of the flowers I've made......I have been inspired by a few awesome people..... Gigi, Louise Nelson, and I also love Balzer Designs
I going to try to do something 'arty' everyday this month.... and hopefully some actual journalling..LOL...

Oops time has gotten away on me again...... off to go for an evening walk!

Today SCOOTER & I went to the Gym for an hour, then the Chemist & then the Post Office to pick up a parcel.............. it was a pizza box with scrapping goodies!!!!!

then I had the problem of how to get it home!!!

So I ended up going to Cheap As Chips to buy $2 velcro straps...... must've looked pretty dorky WITH A PIZZA BOX ON THE BACK...LOL.... I wish I taken a photo of it now...

We then had a stop-over at my daughter and grandies for a chat & cuddles... and back home again....safe & sound.

Tomorrow?.....well, I have two shifts at work, one in the morning & one late afternoon......... I'm sure I will find a reason to take SCOOTER for a spin in between shifts!!!! LOL

Yes, we have another addition to our motorbike family!!!!! ....... and would love to give her a name...... I have thought of SPEEDY (top speed 60kph)......MIDNIGHT...... SHADOW....... have you got any ideas?????
............so now we have a Honda 1100RR SuperBlackbird, a Kawasaki 250 Ninja, and Yamaha JOG......... I soooooo Lurve riding the scooter! I have 2 fun bikes to ride!!!

It's great to pop down to Woolies for just a few groceries, or visit my daughter & my adorable grandies..... and this afternoon I gave her a wash then rode to the Gym!!! LOL.........
I am always trying to think of some REASON I need to go for a scoot!!!! haha.....

I have the house to myself for the evening, so cranking up the MUSIC, and going to scrap.....oh ........BTW......... Bon's Scrap CC is on tonight!!! Go check it out...... I will pop in for a visit to check out the Challenges!

What a month it has been!!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of floods and fires everywhere.... it is so sad to hear there are still people missing, my heart goes out to the family & freinds...... All those who have been helping clean up the debris ... YOU ALL DESERVE A MEDAL!!! I can only imagine how unpleasant it would be!

It's been a while since my last post, and a lot has happened since then.... NYE Party with friends was pretty tame, I took photos but they didn't turn out!

On the 2nd Jan DH & I went to Nelson Vic for a relaxing day on the Glenelg fishing..... a gorgeous day, the water was very dirty though (and it will be worse once the water comes down from the floods up north....

I was thrilled that we bought AUSTSWIM Classes for 2 of our grandsons... 7 days...... and we had good weather up to the last day (bit drizzly).. but they really enjoyed it, and they improved from day 1!!! Next year they go to the BIG pool!!!

On the 8th Jan we went to a friends 50th Birthday Dinner at the Barn (Mount Gambier)..... and I could not resist taking a photo of my meal!!!!! It was to die for!!!! Surf & Turf....... compliments to the chef!

AND of course I have been back to work....BLAH!.... I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY enjoyed my 2 and a bit weeks off work over Christmas and NY....... stayed up late and slept in.........I am not an early morning person, so I struggle to get up in the mornings to start at 5am!!!! I know I really am lucky to even have a job.... so toughen up Princess..eh?

Just before Christmas I swapped my Honda 600 motorbike for a Kawasaki 250...... and until today had only ridden it for about half an hour...... so today, the weather was perfect for riding!
We went Penola about half an hour north of Mt Gambier for lunch. I loved it so much I wanted to ride to Port MacDonnel, which about 20 mins south of Mt Gambier......I feel much happier on the Kwaka because now BOTH MY FEET touch the ground!!!

The sea was pretty calm, a bit of breeze and it wasn't cold (which it usually is)...... we arrived home around 3-30......
I have edited and printed photos already and hoping to do some scrapping in the next few days!!!!!

HOLIDAYS??????? I have 2 weeks!!! YAY!!!

but it still doesn't FEEL LIKE IT...... maybe in a couple days, when I don't have to get up at 4.30am it might really start to hit me that I am actually on holidays!!!! I feel exhausted and rally needing some R & R ....BUT.....
I have lots to do..... I haven't finished Christmas shopping :-(...... Next year I think I will get it done earlier..... it feels like a chore rather than a pleasure this year.

Anyhow I have to share what I did yesterday.......... I made my 6yr grandson cry!!!!! I bet he will NEVER forgive me....EVER!!!!

I went to scrap with my daughter and Kerry Murray (visiting from Adelaide for the weekend)...... when Chei ran inside and said his tooth just fell out... he was ok with that...then there was a flurry of cameras and tissues... (note* cameras first then oh a tissue...LOL)....... OK drama over!!!

UNTIL.......... a little later on I was passing Cheis room and sawa glass of water in his room, I promptly took it out & poured the water down the sink!..........I FREAK OUT when I see any liquids near carpet.. especially in Cheis room!!....(you can guess, but I didn't)

A little while later Chei came running in frantic asking where the glass with his tooth is?.......................... OH NO!!!!!!!!!! I asked the one in your bedroom? YES!!!!!!!
I then had to tell him the bad news......... WELL you can guess what happened next......... He was HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!!! Lucky Charmane and Kerry were there to help with a solution!!!

He wrote a letter to the TOOTH FAIRY to explain that his Nan threw out his tooth by mistake........... but I know he will NEVER forgive me...............EVER!!!!!

Kerry showed Charm & I how to make some gorgeous punched flowers........ bit fiddly, but fun and quite therapeutic...........I feel another addiction coming on....LOL........ I'll put up some photos when I get my LO finished.....

and I still haven't done any Christmas Shopping...... eeeeek!

So how is your Christmas Shopping going? Started? Finished?..... well I am not trying to stress out too much with the 'shopping' this year....... but I am sooooooooooo thrilled to have my daughter and partner and my 3 gorgeous, funny, grandchildren living here now, so we have the WHOLE FAMILY together again at last!!!

I DID put up our CHRISTMAS TREE today though!!! I think it looks gorgeous. I took a couple of photos with my mobile

I bought new decorations this year... and went for Bronze & Gold theme......

Pretty happy with it!

I'm disappointed I missed the Annual Toy Run yesterday . Local bike riders gather together at the Lakes in Mount Gambier with toys to be distributed amongst local needy children. It's my own fault ...... we had a work Dinner on Friday night, and I didn't get to bed till early in the morning.....it was great weather for the bike Run and heard there was around 200 riders this year. I love the roar of the bikes when they do a little ride down the main street and the Old Folks Homes.... all with POLICE ESCORT!!! People have to stop and let all the bikes go through and everybody waves...... some riders even "dress up" in costumes..... the kids LOVE IT!!

As some of you may not know I also have a couple of businesses going, (besides working PT at the local Hospital in Theatre and Day Surgery).......

2 ONE DOMINANT COLOUR
3 ONE MYSTERY CRITERIA
A combination of the 3 Criterias will be announced on the 1st of JUNE. I have a few of the old Creative Team Members coming back - with the chosen criterias to be uploaded and inspire you on the 1st.
The Rules:
The WORD can be used in the title, in the journalling or ANYWHERE on the page/project as long as it's VISIBLE and a feature - we don't want it HIDDEN it has to be seen!
The Dominant Colour MUST be dominant - you must use it so that it is the MOST NOTICEABLE of the colours you use on your page!
The Mystery Criteria will be given by either one of the Creative Team, Myself or even maybe a Guest or Contributor - submit your ideas to challenge_123@hotmail.com
